THE MARKET OF "VOICE BIOMETRICS"
Taiwan (TW). According to the market analysis carried out by the International Biometric Group, proceeds from voice identification technologies – perhaps one of the most underestimated biometric technologies at present – will reach 224,6 million dollars by 2008. A similar research by Frost & Sullivan even talks about 533,7 million dollars by 2011. Once again, North America is the market with the highest growth potential. Applications in the financial field are expected to play a key role. Thanks to the great diffusion of fingerprint identification technologies, i.e. for being familiar with biometric devices, a good market response is also expected in Eastern Asia as regards voice identification technologies. In particular, mobile telephone applications are raising great interest.
