E-GATES AT DUBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Dubai Airport adopts an advanced Bitaqat along with ID Card Management and Issuing Systems. The use of contactless smart card technology at new electronic gates – so called eGates- should reduce delays and enable registered passengers to enter, exit and move quickly through the airport thanks to contactless access control and biometric identification systems.

Since air traffic in the Middle East in increasing security measures at all airports are needed more than ever, therefore electronic gates are designed to speed up access through Dubai Airport. Moreover, such technology reinforces the Dubai based leading Security Solution Provider EastNets as a renowned player in the plastic card industry and ID systems. EastNets, as a reseller for Zebra Card Printer Solutions, has been chosen to guarantee the use of cutting edge technology providing a complete end to end solution aimed at enabling passengers to access quickly at the Airport.

The solution, now available only in two other airports worldwide, is the result of over 10 months of concerted efforts in the IT department and EastNets’ professional approach and ability have led to the successful implementation of this project. Over 100,000 cards have been created using 25 Zebra printers to produce contacless smart cards including ultra violet and micro-printing security features and now the e-gate card is being issued to UAE residents, Gulf Cooperative Country residents and 35 other countries worldwide and the rate of adoption is constantly growing.
